You are incorrect or deliberately being misleading by taking things out of context here to suit your own agenda. There is no 80MP full frame camera with the pixel density of M43. He points to the cameras and says the following. 35Mp with the Canon APS-C and 20Mp for the MFT sensor. He uses 80Mp as a reference for a FF sensor so that he can more simply explain the effect of the 1.6x and 2x crop factors. Kind of hard to think him credible when he refers to his R5 as an 80MP full frame So no, not “kind of done to death” unless you’ve decided that you know it all and have nothing new to learn especially from a highly skilled bird photographer like Duade Paton. If he has indeed now also bought a MFT kit I’ll be having a look and listen to see what and how he’s doing with it. More recently he bought a Sony rig just out of interest because he’d heard so much about the Sony 200-600mm lens and wanted to see how it performed and to report to his followers. His reviews along this long gear progression have been interesting, balanced and helpful for bird photographers wanting to know how the various formats perform with different lenses. Last year he bought an R7 APS-C and has been using in it alongside his R5. Maybe in this forum and it’s narrow point-scoring arguments, but definitely not in the specific bird photography context talking about methods, lenses, reach, lighting and all the other things that are involved in Avian Photography.ĭuade Paton is a well respected bird photographer who started out many years ago with a canon APS-C DSLR, then Canon FF DSLR an more recently Canon FF Mirrorless. Kind of been done to death, at this point, don't you think?
